The CV1
Young People Outreach Project opened its doors in April 2004. The
Centre caters for young people 13 to 19 years old. Our target is to
sign up, advise and support "hard to reach" young people (16 to 19
years old) who are in need of employment, education or training
(NEET) in the Hillfields area.
B.E.S.T. is our new engagement programme for organizations who provide alternative vocation for local young people aged 16 - 19 years old. With this programme, we aim to improve their IT and communication skills.
We offer job search coaching to young people whose limited job search skills prevent them from achieving social independence and/or employment goals.
The Career Development & Vocational Support Training is
running courses in hair and nail care as well as brick laying. For
further information on these courses, please contact Gino Shankle
on 024 7655 0564 or email leshank_ent@yahoo.com
We have also cultivated and implemented several recruitment and referral partnerships with Training Providers and local statutory and volunteer organisations. These partnerships are very effective support systems for young people on our programmes.
Please contact WATCH's Youth Development worker, Gino Shankle
for more information.
The Young Peoples Project at WATCH is funded by the Lottery and ESF
funding.
